Block Party Block of the Month
Let’s start 2021 with a Block of the Month using a sweet pattern from Quilter’s Cache! 2020 was a hard year for us all. Friendship can heal so much, and I thought a signature block was a good one to start with.
This beautiful block pattern was designed by Marcia Hohn at The Quilter’s Cache. Marcia calls this block “Signature Cross,” and it finishes at 12″ X 12.” Click here for the Signature Cross Block instructions. Please use pastels and/or floral fabric for the body of the block. The center square (for the signature) should be cream fabric or cream tone-on-tone fabric. I think that will make a soft and pretty quilt. After 2020, we need soft and pretty!
You can make one or more blocks. Members will receive one ticket for EACH block turned in. All blocks are due by the April Guild meeting. The drawing for the person who will receive ALL the blocks will be held at the end of that Guild meeting.
If you attend meetings via ZOOM, you can participate, too! You don’t have to be present to win, but your blocks have to be at the April Guild meeting. If you live in South Arlington, you can bring the blocks to my home. If you live in North Arlington, you can bring them to Debbie Hood’s home. Or you can mail your block(s) to Debbie. (Addresses are in the Directory.)
This is going to be fun! Good Luck!
Debbie Hood has chosen “Tiny Houses” for her 2021 President’s Block. She requested the blocks be made using Christmas fabric.
Click here for a link to a Missouri Star tutorial for the block.
Block is 6” x 4.5” unfinished.
Dimensions are listed below:
Sides – 2” x 3”
Top – 1.5” x 4.5”
Door – 1.5” x 3”
Roof – 2.5” x 4.5” (corners for snowballing 2.5” x 2.5”)
This is such a fun pattern. During this long winter’s break, let’s all start making some tiny houses!
Happy New Year,
